Between the 15th and 17th of July 2024, kunanyi / Mt Wellington received around 195mm of rain over a 72 hour period. This resulted in the Disappearing Tarn temporarily filling for the first time in several years.

The Wellington Park Management Trust is aware that the Tarn has been rapidly increasing in popularity over the last 5-10 years, which has introduced a number of new challenges relating to visitor safety and environmental management. In the time since the Tarn last filled, the Trust has been working to improve on-ground wayfinding and regulatory signage - as well as our online communications - with the goal of ensuring that visitors are both well-prepared, and aware of our shared responsibility to care for Wellington Park.

Your responses to this short survey will help us to understand the effectiveness of this work during the most recent Tarn event in July 2024.
