Call for Session Proposals |
California Transit Association’s Annual Fall Conference & Expo
The California Transit Association has historically sourced session topics for our Annual Fall Conference & Expo from the Association’s standing committees and task forces, post conference survey results, and staff. At last year’s event, the Association invited the submission of session proposals. Of our twenty 2024 sessions, fourteen were fully or partially sourced from solicited submissions. For our upcoming 60th Annual Fall Conference & Expo, taking place November 5-7, 2025, in Long Beach, we will continue to expand the scope of the session topics, speakers, and perspectives featured in our program.
The Association again invites members, institutional partners, and allied stakeholders to submit session proposals. All submissions will be reviewed by the Program & Conference Committee and staff for alignment with the broader program. We intend to contact the submitters of approved session proposals in April 2025.
The Association is committed to accepting panel topics, moderators, and individual panelists that reflect the diversity of our state, our industry, and our Association membership. If the Association selects your submission, please be prepared to suggest potential panel speakers that reflect diversity across one or more of the following factors: race/ethnicity, country of origin, gender, disability, age, sexuality, life experience, industry experience, operator size/geographic location/communities and individuals served, and more.
We appreciate your interest in participating in our upcoming event. If you have any questions about this process, please email Events & Education Director Erin Meyer at erin@caltransit.org.

Guidance:
- All proposals must be submitted using the survey by April 23 to be considered.
- Proposals should reflect innovative, cutting-edge content.
- Proposals should further ongoing industry education and/or present research with practical application to the transit industry, and should not further commercial interests.
- Multiple proposals may be submitted by a single submitter, but each proposal must be submitted separately.
- After careful review by the Association’s Program & Conference Committee, all submitters will receive an official acceptance or decline notification by email. The Association will communicate with the submitter for all communications including notifications and deadlines.
- If your proposal is selected, the Association’s Program & Conference Committee staff may reach out to you to get your input on suggested speakers and/or moderators. The acceptance of a proposed session does not guarantee that the Association will invite suggested speakers/moderators to participate in that session.
