Sector Consultation

The Victorian Government has allocated funding over two years to the Early Learning Association of Australia (ELAA) to address workforce capacity and capability constraints in the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector.
The Skilling an Adaptable Early Childhood Education and Care Workforce (SAEW) project will develop a series of specialised micro-credentials to ensure new early childhood educators can apply their skills and training in the workplace that meets the learning and developmental needs of children and the workforce requirements of employers across the ECEC sector.

Training Needs Analysis Survey
As part of the initial project implementation phase, ELAA in partnership with Gowrie Victoria and The Y Ballarat, will be undertaking a Training Needs Analysis to ensure the micro-credentials are developed in the areas most identified for training by the ECEC employers and Certificate III qualified early childhood educators.
Once the results of the Training Needs Analysis have been finalised, the most popular topics will be developed into 8 short micro-credentials (@1 hour each) and 2 long micro-credentials (@2-4 hours each) and published on a self-paced, interactive web-based Learning Management System (LMS). In addition, a Community of Practice will be established in early 2024 to support early childhood educators to complete the micro-credentials, develop peer networks and access best practices tools, templates and other training resource materials.
The training needs analysis survey has been specifically designed for completion by early childhood employers (including Centre Managers, Educational Leaders and Room Leaders etc) and Certificate III qualified early childhood employees and should take only 10-15 minutes to complete.
