STHS McAllen da Vinci 5 Robot Naming Contest

South Texas Health System McAllen, a Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center, is expanding its minimally invasive surgical capabilities. STHS McAllen will soon be home to a da Vinci 5 Robotic Surgical System, the latest in robotic-assisted surgical technology from Intuitive Surgical that’s designed to improve precision, efficiency and patient outcomes. To help introduce the new technology to the Rio Grande Valley, STHS McAllen is launching this special Name the Robot contest. Students interested in participating must complete this official form entry, including their naming idea, no later than Friday, March 28, 2025.* The contest winner will be revealed during the hospital’s official robot naming event for the da Vinci 5 on Thursday, April 10, 2025. The winner will be awarded a special prize and have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the robot at its new home in the STHS McAllen Surgical Services Department.
