Information for Participants
By signing up today, you consent to taking part in our Herts Unfiltered Student Diaries Project.
- Duration: The project will run throughout Semester A, from September to December.
- Topics of Interest: Every few weeks you will receive a submission link from us, asking you to reflect over a certain topic (such as your experience of start of term, or your sense of community belonging) and to provide us with a diary submission.
- Response Formats: You may choose to submit your entry in written form, text messages, video logs (vlogs), or any other format that you prefer.
- Prize Draw: For each diary entry you submit, an entry will be made for you within a prize draw for a £150 Love2Shop Voucher. The prize draw will take place in December 2024 (within the last week of term). The more diary entries you make throughout the project, the higher the chances that you will win the prize draw.
Use of your Diary Entries: All diary entries submitted will be stored securely. Quotes or content from your diary entries could be selected for use within our report for the project, therefore please only share within your entries what you would be comfortable to be shared. Your name will not be matched with your diary entries if used within our report. However, if you choose to submit a diary entry whereby you could be identifiable (such as via video or photographic content), you are providing your permission for this to potentially be included within our report.
Your Personal Data: We will ask for your Student ID number alongside each diary submission, which will allow us to track how many diary entries you have submitted - and to include the corresponding number of entries within the prize draw. Your Student ID numbers will not be published publicly as a means of indicating your involvement within the project.

- I understand that any personal or identifying information will remain confidential and that all efforts will be made to ensure I cannot be identified.
- I agree that my anonymised research data will be hosted and analysed by Hertfordshire Students’ Union to form the publicly available report.
