Surfing NSW Event Staff Expressions of Interest

Are you interested in working casually at Surfing NSW events or work experience/internship?

Over the last 24 months Surfing NSW have had an increase in events and are looking for casual staff across all beaches in NSW in a number of different roles. Check out the below and fill in the details for future casual event work with the Surfing NSW. Surfing NSW run events across weekends as well as during the week. Many casual staff have used the event platform to gain event management experience, build contacts within the surf industry and also visit different parts of NSW while working.

Please note this work requires early starting times and generally long hours.

Event Work Crew - work as part of the site team to assist set up event infrastructure, sponsor activations requirements and entire event logistics.

Event Photographer - take surf images & event sponsors images for Surfing NSW Media Manager. Please note this is a junior/ assisting role.

Event Videographer - create event highlight packages and Video News Releases for media

Beach Marshal - check in surfers each heat and be the main point for event information

Event Commentary - Communicate scores & event information to surfers and public via the PA system

Event Computer Operator - very important technical role that controls & manages the computer scoring system, excel heat draw updates and progressions. This role works close with the Event Coordinator & Event Director.

Event Judge - work with experienced Surfing NSW & WSL head judges alongside a panel of judges to score surfers with the electronic computer scoring system

Surfing NSW Internships - Surfing NSW also provide the opportunity to work in the office, at events and across different programs to assist students complete their University, Tafe or personal development through internship programs which is flexible all year round. Many students have then progressed to casual paid work post this period in the office on administration or on events.

Surfing NSW Event Volunteer - Surfing NSW also provide the opportunity to work at events and different programs.
