Patients with mental health conditions rely on stable insurance coverage to access prescribed medications to manage their overall health and well-being.

Unfortunately, health plans and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) are increasingly causing patients with mental health conditions to switch treatments for non-medical reasons, such as cost or access. Amid a growing mental health crisis in our country, it’s critical that patients have broad access to the most effective treatments for their condition and that treatment decisions remain between a patient and their healthcare provider.

Aimed Alliance and the Alliance for Patient Access (AfPA) want to hear from patients and providers about their personal treatment experiences and any challenges patients face in affording and accessing necessary treatments and providers face in prescribing these treatments for mental health conditions. Your answers will help us better understand how to address treatment needs and advocate for stronger access to treatments for mental health.
