The Commission proposed a revision of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD), which led to intense negotiations between co-legislators. The European Parliament adopted a report on the provision of audiovisual media services. In 2018, the Council adopted the revised AVMSD, completing the legislative process. Member States were required to transpose the AVMSD into their national legislation by September 2020.
EFHOH was involved in the early negotiations with broadcasters and ENGOs, aiming to strengthen Article 7 of the AVMSD.

We are now conducting a survey among members to assess the impact of the enhanced Article 7 on national broadcast regulations.
