Review of polling districts, places and stations. Take part today!

City of York Council is reviewing the places where people can vote, and is asking residents to comment on new proposals as well as on existing stations.

Like all towns and cities, York is divided into polling districts in which local residents can vote in person. After Parliamentary constituency boundary changes were made in York this summer, some changes are being proposed for certain districts and polling stations.

The Council is asking residents for their thoughts on these proposals, and for suggestions to improve any existing polling district boundaries and polling stations.

Views are particularly welcomed from disabled people in terms of access to polling stations, support available and additional support needed.

The aim of the review is to ensure that;
  • electors have reasonable and practical facilities for voting
  • polling places are accessible to all electors, as far as is reasonable and practical
Information on the review can be found on our review page, please read the information before taking part. The outcome of the review will also be published on this page https://www.york.gov.uk/PollingReview.

See details of the documents Notice of Polling Districts and Polling Places Review - December 2024 and List of Polling Stations with initial recommendations - December 2024 (polling stations are listed within their wards).
