PARKTOWN HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS - Parent Survey 2018
Parent Survey 2018
Dear Parents
Every three years we need to take the time to formulate the school development plan for the next three years. Through this process it is important to consider all aspects of the school, such as the quality of teaching and learning, the facilities, the extra-curricular programme, school administration, school discipline, etc. and it is important to get feedback from all stakeholders.
We invite you to respond to the questions below. The survey is anonymous. Only one return per family is required.
When responding please bear in mind that the context in which the school operates is unlikely to change, for example:
The government will not increase funding to schools such as ours (i.e. parents will continue to have to pay fees to cover the costs of running the school except for the 42 teachers, 8 support staff and about R600 000 to cover all other costs). The school (parents) already pays for 49 additional staff as well as all the other extras the school offers; The pressure to admit a greater number of learners will not stop until there are more schools that achieve well and have good facilities; Good, qualified teachers are a scarce resource; A school is a microcosm of society so there are both honest and dishonest people in our school which is why we will continue to have to deal with problems such as theft and cheating. We will also continue to deal with other problems that society as a whole experiences.
