Alhambra Parks Improvement Survey

The City of Alhambra will be submitting competitive grant applications for the following project locations, and we are interested in your feedback and ideas. Please tell us what you think. 
1.Story Park. The project entails filling in the vacant pool and converting the space into useable, passive green space to complement the Joslyn Center and further enhance park space. What improvements would you like to see within the converted space? Choose all that apply:
2.Pocket Park. Located at the Hellman Avenue and Fremont Avenue intersection, the site features a vacant city-owned building, which the City proposes to demolish and convert its parcel into green space for area residents to enjoy. 3.Burke Heritage Park: The area currently features a xeriscape garden and the Alhambra Historical Society Museum. A large turf area behind the Museum provides space for leisurely neighborhood recreational activities; however, no features exist. What improvements would you like to see at Burke Heritage Park? 4.Shorb Clinic: Located at 612 West Shorb Street, the project could serve as a community center for instructional classes, community meetings, and community gathering, and other similar recreation needs. 5.Gateway Plaza Park: Situated along Fremont Avenue, the park features a large sculpture of Alhambra’s inspired arch, walking paths, and benches. Several plants and flowers dominate the space. The proposed project involves the conversion of the flower beds and other landscape into turf to enable greater leisurely use of the space including picnicking and gathering.
