Judo Alberta is grateful for all of the hard work and generosity that is provided by the membership throughout the year. Each year Judo Alberta likes to acknowledge outstanding individuals for their hard work and dedication. The four categories up for nomination are:
Volunteer of the Year:
• The award will be presented to the most deserving volunteer (judoka or otherwise) who shows the true spirit of volunteerism and has given outstanding service to the Association over the past year (eg. assisting at Tournaments)
Coach of the Year:
· Must currently be a member of Judo Alberta. · Currently coaching athletes at provincial or national tournaments · Demonstrates and abides by Coaching Code of Ethics . Has made a significant contribution to the growth of judo in Alberta
Referee of the Year:
· Who offers support and encouragement to all levels of referees. · Who continually attends tournaments of all levels throughout the province of Alberta and abroad · Who demonstrates a high level of proficiency in refereeing · Currently a member of Judo Alberta · Demonstrates and abides by Code of Ethics
Club of the Year:
· Must encourage and display an attitude, which is in keeping with the true philosophies of Judo. · Encourages club participation in Judo Alberta events such as training camps, Alberta Winter Games, Women’s committee events, etc. · Submits club and member registrations in a timely manner. · Fosters and displays team spirit and “fair play” ethics
The Judo Alberta Board of Directors will review all nominations and will determine a recipient for each category.
