Thank you for your interest in participating in our PROgress Progress. This Immersive, career-accelerator program is designed to get you the knowledge and skills you need to secure a job in the research sector.
Please use this form to provide information about yourself to be considered for one of our limited program places.
The program is aimed at health science graduates or staff who have an interest in working in the clinical trials industry. Foundation skills as a Clinical Trial Coordinator will set you up for a long and successful career in the research sector.
Clinical Trial Coordinators have a variety of responsibilities including patient recruitment and ongoing care, project management, ethics administration and project budgeting. Clinical Trial Coordinators work with many medical professionals, such as Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory researchers, senior management personnel, and more.
A good Clinical Trial Coordinator must work well under pressure, as they are responsible for many elements of a clinical trial. They must also be detail oriented as they may need to track multiple projects at a time.
To be a successful Clinical Trial Coordinator you must:
• Be an innovative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
• Have meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multitask
• Have strong organisational, administrative, and planning skills
• Be able to work under pressure and react effectively and adaptably to situations
• Be able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills
The program includes two parts:
1. Accelerated, flexible training to prepare you with strong foundation knowledge in the sector
2. Exposure to a complete CTC experience via practical placement (Human Research Ethics, Investigational Products, patient recruitment and ongoing patient management, monitoring visits, site selection, data management, research stakeholder interactions, patient safety reporting).
Participants will develop a learning agreement with their mentor, set goals for internship outcomes, and present a Capstone project towards the end of the program. Participants will come together for peer mentoring, as well as being supported by our team at PRAXIS throughout.
Hosts are being selected based on their ability to provide an education-centric experience. There is no guarantee of a full-time job opportunity at the completion of the program with the host site, however you will network with many people in the research sector during your experience. Participants in previous programs have secured roles in the sector on program completion.
