Muslims for Just Futures (MJF) is developing a solidarity economies platform and policy agenda from the vantage point of Muslim communities – as a response to the divestment that Muslim communities have experienced over time due to structural and gendered Islamophobia and intersecting structures of oppression. In addition to researching other solidarity economies policies and platforms, MJF is circulating a qualitative survey to gather key data from nonprofit organizations, community groups, small businesses, solidarity economy organizations like co-ops and incubators, and other local institutions. The anticipated deliverable of this work is a “MJF Economic Justice & Solidarity Economies Agenda” – featuring a framework for economic justice focused on Muslim communities with specific tangible community recommendations and policy recommendations for all levels of government.
This survey should take an estimated 30 minutes to complete. It features questions about your organizational demographics, economic justice, and conceptualizing a solidarity economy. If you would prefer to set up a 30-minute one-on-one call in place of taking this survey, please contact Darakshan Raja (community@muslimsforjustfutures.org).
