Development In Transportation Hubs

Transit oriented development refers to building housing, retail, businesses and other community amenities like parks, trails and gathering spaces in a compact area within a half mile of transportation hubs, such as train or bus stations.

The North County Transit District is revitalizing underutilized land at 11 transit stations in five cities throughout North County, including at the Escondido Transit Center. We are committed to developing our stations in a way that benefits the community as well as sustains and promotes both current and future transportation services. Through responsible development adjacent to transit, NCTD aims to improve transit efficiency and the rider experience by working in partnership with private developers and the community to create innovative and engaging spaces.

NCTD would like to hear from you! Your feedback will help us to ensure that plans reflect community input.
