About the process
Every year, the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture receives hundreds of general support and project applications from non-profit organizations and artists throughout the city of Phoenix.To distribute this funding in a fair and equitable manner, the city relies on panels of artists, administrators, and community members to review applications, provide feedback, and recommend decisions. 

Why apply?
Reviewing grants is a great way to gain valuable professional experience while connecting with other artists and community members and giving back to the community.
 
Who can be a panelist?
Anyone can apply. While experience in arts and culture, non-profit management, or other professional fields is often helpful, there are no formal requirements to be a panelist. Similarly, you do not need to live or reside in the city of Phoenix. 

Commitments and compensation
Panelists spend 10 to 12 hours reviewing grants, taking notes, and attending virtual meetings and orientations over a six to eight week period in any given grant cycle season. Specific timelines and amounts vary depending on the program. Each panelist receives a modest honorarium of $100-$150, depending on the number of applications reviewed. All reviews and meetings will take place remotely. More information about reviewing grants will be provided at the appropriate time.
 
Submitting your application
To apply to become a panelist, all you need to do is complete the following form, which is about 20 questions long and should take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete. Besides your basic contact information, the only materials you'll need are a brief biography and an optional resume/CV. 

What's next?
Once you complete the form, you'll receive an automated message in your web browser confirming your submission. Then, we'll follow up with applicants on an individual basis as we begin putting panels together prior to a grants cycle. Please note: you only need to submit this form once. Additionally, we cannot respond to individual applicants given the volume of submissions we receive.
