Extending Agile Project Management beyond Software Industry

Dear Sir/Madam,

Let me at first introduce myself. My name is Danijela Ciric. I am a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. As part of my thesis, I am exploring the application of agile project management approach beyond software industry. Specifically, I am trying to assess whether agile approach may be applicable and useful outside the software industry and whether APM in a particular environment have something to offer to organizations in terms of more effective execution of projects of certain characteristics.

This research is supported by the Project Management Institute, under the PMI Thesis Research Grant Program and is one of the few in the world to receive PMI’s investment in a very competitive selection, judged by a committee of world-leading academics and practitioners.

I would be extremely grateful if you would kindly help me in my research pursuits by completing the attached questionnaire.

I estimate that completing the whole survey should not take more than 15-20 minutes.

You have been particularly selected to fill out this questionnaire because we felt that you are knowledgeable about and/or experienced working in the field of project management. This questionnaire may be completed by any project management  practitioner, e.g., director, senior manager, manager, team leader, team member who has experience practicing project management and who has participated in some particular project.

All your responses will be kept strictly confidential. The results of the study will be aggregated and/or reported in such a way that no single person, project team, or organization is identified.

In addition, by responding to the questionnaire you will be joining me in attempting to benefit the global community of project management practitioners by providing an improved understanding of applicability of APM practices and approaches beyond software domain.
