Who May Attend?
Executive directors of OVW grantee and subgrantee organizations, grant partners, past participants of the SOS Institute, and potential OVW grantees. Participation will be limited to 40 executive directors. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We will prioritize prioritize applications from organizations working with undeserved communities or struggling with a variety of organizational development challenges. Applicants must certify that they can attend all session and fully participate in the self-paced work.
Program Participation Commitments
In advance of this program, you will be required to complete a brief needs assessment and other tasks resulting in about 2 hours of pre-program work. There will be 8 live zoom sessions for 90 minutes each. There will also be additional assignments each week that will take approximately 2 hours of time to complete. We anticipate a total time commitment of up to 4 hours per week.
As a culmination of the course, participants will create a professional development plan based on their work throughout and provide a brief presentation on next steps for a small group of peers.
Upon acceptance, FUTURES staff will provide detailed instructions and guidance, a syllabus, and access to other materials needed.
Note: This program is not didactic, the success of this program depends on the engagement and peer exchange among participants. Participation is expected for all sessions--with an understanding participants may miss up to two live sessions with the agreement they will view the session recording and complete any assignments.
Applicants will be contacted regarding the status of their application, no later than December 17, 2021. Please note that your registration is not confirmed until you have received an acceptance letter.
