OVERVIEW

Pi Kapp College for Emerging Leaders is a transformational, six-day leadership development experience intended to empower participants to create the ideal chapter. Bringing together up to 40 undergraduate members from across the country for each session, this institute is for emerging leaders and has proven to be one of Pi Kappa Phi's most impactful programs.

The institute also includes a friendship visit, challenge course, unique subordinate rituals, and an insider look at Pi Kappa Phi's heritage through visits to both the Kelley A. Bergstrom Leadership Center of Pi Kappa Phi in Charlotte and the College of Charleston.

Pi Kapp College participants:
  • Develop friendships with brothers across the country

  • Explore how to utilize their strengths when working with others
  • Experience a friendship visit and deepen their appreciation for the abilities of all people
  • Learn more about their personal values and how they influence who they are as an individual
  • Discuss Pi Kappa Phi's Ritual of Initiation and obligations of membership during a day trip to Charleston, SC
  • Create a plan to help their chapter become more like the ideal chapter
  • Meet influential alumni and leaders within Pi Kappa Phi
Additionally, well over half of all Pi Kapp College graduates go on to hold leadership positions in their chapter. 


DATES

There will be two sessions of Pi Kapp College offered this summer:
  • Session I: May 15-22, 2020
  • Session II: July 24-31, 2020

LOCATION

Pi Kapp College for Emerging Leaders begins in Charlotte, NC at the Kelley A. Bergstrom Leadership Center of Pi Kappa Phi. The  participants will spend a full day in Charleston, SC for a Heritage Tour, visiting historic Pi Kappa Phi sites in both the Holy City and on the College of Charleston campus.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Participants must be initiated members of Pi Kappa Phi by the start of their session
  • Ideal applicants will be going into their sophomore or junior year of college
  • Ideal applicants will be motivated to make a positive impact on their chapter, campus, or community
