MCFN Pillar 6 is looking into potentially establishing a Memorial Forest in the Nation as more and more people are opting for cremation. Though the Nation offers a columbarium for urns at the Graveyard. A Memorial Forest would allow for families to dedicate an existing tree to a loved one - and to have an annual gathering dedicated to our loved ones as a Community. This will ensure that our loved ones without headstones will be remembered long into the future and give families with cremated remains an opportunity to memorialize their loved ones in the same way. This will also allow families to dedicate a piece of their own Nation to their loved one with pride. For clarification - this would be a tree plaque dedication only - not a place to hold remains.
