The City of Marquette's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board has received some public interest and is using this survey to gather public opinion on the needs of the community for the current and possible additional future off-leash facilities as well as the willingness of the community to help fund such facilities through fees.
Currently within the City of Marquette, Tourist Park is the only public area where dogs are allowed to be off-leash. The off-leash area is open from November 1 until April 30 and is limited to the area where the 110 camping sites are located. This area is not completely fenced, is plowed all winter and has waste receptacles and dog waste bags. The City Clerk sells permits for this area in addition to selling dog licenses.
