Introduction to the survey

This survey has been prepared by Enscape Consulting on behalf of The Highland Council, as part of a feasibility study into the development of a community food growing project on one of the Common Good fields at Sandown Lands in Nairn - see the map below for the location of the field being considered for the project.
The 4 hectare field (equivalent to 4 football pitches) could be used in the future to support more food growing using ecologically sound principles, provide training and job opportunities. The installation of solar panels as part of the development could assist in raising income for a future project and the Common Good Fund. We are interested in the Nairn community's views on this and are asking people living in and close to Nairn to complete this survey – individuals, groups or organisations.
You might not know anything about food growing, but you might be interested in learning or getting involved. The development of a project will provide specific opportunities for growing and related activities to provide opportunities for local food outlets and support families who would like access to nutritious, affordable fruit and veg, honey, seeds and plants. Whatever your interest or background we will be grateful for your views.
The lessons of this study will also be considered with respect to the potential for the whole of the Highland Council region.
Any data collected as part of this survey will be managed in line with the privacy and data policies of Enscape which can be found here.

This survey should take around 5 minutes to complete and is open until 2 August 2024.
