Welcome

Queensland Foster and Kinship Care is a non-government organisation for Foster and Kinship carers. QFKC was established in 1976 and to this day is managed by volunteers who are all Foster or Kinship carers.

In January 2004, the Crime and Misconduct Commission report “Protecting Children: An inquiry into Abuse of Children in Foster Care" recommended that structured exit interviews with carers be conducted.

QFKC has been authorised to conduct these interviews. It is believed that the collection of this information will lead to changes that will improve the Foster Care system.
