Program Description

The PECO STEM Teaching Fellows Program is an intensive short-term teacher professional development series designed for Philadelphia-area K-8 public, Archdiocesan, private, and home school teachers seeking to grow and deepen the STEM literacy of their students. These workshops will be held virtually and cover a wide variety of topics related to STEM teaching and learning. The Teaching Fellows will then produce and present a Capstone Project: an engaging STEM lesson plan to implement in their classrooms.  

The 6 sessions plus the presentation session will take place on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-5:30pm from mid-February through mid-May 2022.  Applications are due Wednesday, February 23rd with decisions emailed by Tuesday, March 1, 2022.


Completing the PECO STEM Teaching Fellows Program will provide critical professional development, and valuable relationships with Philadelphia STEM experts. Participants who complete the program will also receive Act 48 credits, a $300 stipend, and assistance in implementing their Capstone Projects.
