Puffing Billy Railway (PBR) is undertaking research and data gathering for our first Gender Impact Assessment (GIA). A GIA is a way of critically thinking about how policies, programs and services will meet the different needs of women, men, and gender-diverse people. Through a GIA the aim is to create better and fairer outcomes and ensure all people have equal access to opportunities and resources.
The issue we are exploring in this GIA is to look at how PBR can create a safe a welcoming environment to attract, maintain and support a diverse workforce, that is reflective of our visitors and communities.
Our current volunteer team is 80% male with under 10% culturally diverse. This is in comparison to approximately 50% of our visitors being women and a very culturally diverse visitor base.
We would appreciate your input and thoughts on the following few questions.
