City of Pompano Beach Fair Housing and Community Development Needs Survey |
The City of Pompano Beach is required to submit a Five-Year Consolidated Plan, Annual Action Plan, and Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order to receive federal grant funds under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME).
The Consolidated Plan sets the City's strategic objectives to address housing and community development needs through HUD funding. The Annual Action Plan outlines how the City will spend the funds it receives annually from HUD. The Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice is a tool for identifying barriers to fair housing and determining strategies for addressing those barriers.
The City anticipates it will receive $1,042,830 in CDBG funds and $453,511 in HOME funds for FY 2020-2021. CDBG funds may be used for public facilities and infrastructure projects, public services, affordable housing related projects, homelessness, and economic development activities. HOME funds are used to provide affordable housing opportunities to low-income households.
