Granville Street Pedestrian Zone Business Survey

We want to hear from you!

The Granville Street Pedestrian Zone (GPZ) was launched during the FIFA World Cup (June 11 to July 19) and extended until September 7. This allowed businesses and the City of Vancouver to temporarily test pedestrianization of Granville Street this summer. The City and Downtown Van worked together to support businesses throughout the GPZ by introducing tools such as new loading and passenger zones on cross-streets, expanded patio footprints, business grants, and other operational supports.

As a business operating in and around the Pedestrian Zone, your feedback is important to us. We want to better understand how the pedestrian zone affected your business: what worked well, what challenges you experienced, and where improvements could be made.

The information we collect in this survey helps inform future considerations for pedestrianizing Granville St. We appreciate you taking the time to complete this survey. Please submit only one response per business.

Survey will be open until September 27, 2026.

The road closure and traffic changes meant businesses had to temporarily change their usual operations, due to loading, deliveries, customer vehicle access and parking being relocated off Granville Street. To help lessen these impacts, the City tested the following measures:

• Maintained vehicle access on laneways and cross-streets (Robson, Smithe, Nelson, Helmcken, and Davie).
• Added new loading zones on cross-streets to support loading and deliveries.
• Added new passenger zones on cross-streets to customer access.
10.How successful were these measures in supporting your business' daily operations during the Pedestrian Zone?
