The Global Wildlife Program (GWP), funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and led by the World Bank is nearing 100 sites with strengthened anti-poaching measures! We also recognize that there are many other site-based efforts beyond the GWP that have successfully reduced the impacts of poaching. Thus, the GWP is conducting a global survey to capture insights and lessons learned from sites that have successfully deployed anti-poaching initiatives within and outside the program. The information gained from the survey will be shared with the conservation community to help scale up anti-poaching activities.

For the survey, ‘site’ is defined as a geographic area where poaching is prevalent: it could be protected areas, conserved areas, conservancies, Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs), community and indigenous lands, or ecological corridors.

This survey will take 15 minutes and should be filled out by practitioners involved in designing, implementing and monitoring anti-poaching efforts at the site level.

The results of the survey will be discussed at a knowledge event and the findings will be published in a feature story on the GWP website.
