The American Probation & Parole Association, in partnership with the Tribal Judicial Institute, the National Tribal Judicial Center at the National Judicial College, and the Bureau of Justice Assistance is pleased to be hosting the Dialogue Session on Implementation of the Tribal Law & Order Act's Enhanced Sentencing Authority. This event will share the stories of four tribal communities that have gone through implementation and are currently exercising this new authority as well as provide a forum for participants to ask questions directly to the individuals intricately involved in implementing the enhanced sentencing authority in their communities.
This event is open to all disciplines and representatives that may be impacted through the expansion of sentencing authority, including Tribal Leaders, Public Defenders, Prosecutors, Law Enforcement, Victims Advocates, Community Corrections (pretrial, probation, reentry), Service Providers, Detention, Community Members, etc.
