Information about the 2025 Student Survey of Campus Culture

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT PARTICIPATING IN THIS YEAR'S SURVEY

Every year, the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) asks each campus in Ohio to collect information regarding sexual misconduct. The survey should take you about 15 minutes to complete.

There are questions that ask about your direct and indirect experiences related to sensitive topics such as sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, or unwanted sexual contact.

Please know:

All your responses will be collected anonymously.

No names, emails, IP addresses, or other identifiers will be recorded, so there will be no way for anyone to know if you participated or which responses are yours.

Please note, if other people have access to your computer, they might be able to view your web browsing history, including a link to this survey. For information on how to delete your web browsing history, you can visit computerhope.com/issues/ch000510.htm.

The information you provide in this survey will not be used to investigate specific individuals.

Disclosing an incident here does not constitute reporting the incident to your campus and will not result in any action, disciplinary or otherwise. If you wish to report an incident of misconduct or harassment, please use Otterbein University's Reporting Procedures.

Your participation in this survey is voluntary.

You can choose whether or not to start the survey. If you do choose to begin the survey, you can stop at any point. You can also choose to skip certain questions and advance to other parts of the survey.
Your wellbeing is important to us.

For those who have experienced trauma, thinking about the details can sometimes bring back feelings connected to the initial experience. We encourage you to prioritize your own well-being. Stop taking the survey if necessary. There are people who are trained to talk to you about issues related to sexual misconduct and harassment and/or other negative feelings you are having by participating in this survey.

For immediate support, contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673). Additional information about campus, local, and national resources will be provided at the end of the survey.

YOUR VOICE MATTERS.

While there is no immediate benefit to you for participating in this survey, the results will be used to identify actionable findings that can help increase a sense of safety and belonging for all members of the Otterbein University community.

For questions about Otterbein's planned use of the data, please contact Susan Wismar, Project Director at wismar1@otterbein.edu.
