Cambridgeshire County Council have created an annual 20mph funding programme to install 20mph limits countywide. Successful proposals will be entirely funded by the council out of a budget of £150,000 per year; specifically set aside for 20mph schemes. Many other areas in Cambridgeshire have already been approved, and we feel it is important to ensure the village does not miss out on the funding if there is support for the 20mph speed limit. The Offords Traffic Survey conducted during the summer showed some good support for 20mph, with 63% of respondents favouring a lower limit.
This is your chance to have your say on the introduction of a lower speed limit and to shape the design for the scheme. The scheme will only be introduced if community support can be further demonstrated, therefore it is essential that feedback is provided.
