DTC Outdoor Space Amendment Survey |
Introduction
The Metro Nashville Planning Department has drafted an amendment to the Downtown Code’s “Outdoor Space” (previously “Open Space”) section. Last updated in 2010, this amendment seeks to promote a cohesive network of diverse landscape types that reflect the transition of the downtown from a Central Business District to a collection of complete, vibrant, environmentally resilient neighborhoods that serve the needs of residents and visitors.
The amendment to the “Outdoor Space” (previously “Open Space”) section expands the current list of outdoor space typologies and establishes more stringent general design standards for all outdoor spaces as well as some additional type-specific requirements.
