Distinguished Lifetime Military Contribution Award Criteria:
The Distinguished Lifetime Military Contribution Award was established by the Board of Regents in 2018 to recognize a physician’s distinguished contributions to the advancement of military surgery. Recipients for this Award must be a physician with a demonstrated commitment to the advancement of military surgical care but are not required to be in an active medical practice. It is not mandated that this Award be presented on an annual basis, but rather on merit. The Honors Committee will receive input from the ACS Military Health System Strategic Partnership (MHSSPAC), the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the Department of Defense, the College’s Committee on Trauma, and the entire ACS membership when selecting a recipient. The Award is presented during the Convocation Ceremony of the annual Clinical Congress.
