Neurodiversity - Refers to the concept that differences in brain functioning within the human population are normal, and that brain functioning that is not “neurotypical” should not be stigmatized or excluded. (Neurodiversity = Everyone)
Neurodivergence – Refers to variations in the human brain regarding sociability, learning, attention, mood and other mental functions. (i.e. Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, PTSD, etc.)
The Department of Human Resources heads the Neurodivergent Excellence Initiative. The goal is to create a more inclusive hiring process and work environments where we all can be our best. Our efforts use three strategies:
