We invite you to submit your abstract for the next International Conference taking place March 19-23, 2025, in San Diego, California.

Requirements:

In order to present your abstract, you must:

  1. Agree to attend the 2025 AmSECT 63rd International Conference in-person. Understand that registration fees are required and are not waived with acceptance.
  2. Understand that there is no financial assistance should your abstract be selected. However, some abstracts are awarded financially. More information regarding prizes is below.
  3. Agree that your abstract will be judged by AmSECT.
  4. Submit your accepted abstract to AmSECT’s Journal of ExtraCorporeal Technology (JECT) as a manuscript. JECT is the premier source of the most current research and information related to extracorporeal technology including cardiopulmonary bypass, extracorporeal life support, mechanical assist devices, and perioperative blood management. Note: Assistance on this process will be provided.

Deadline


The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, November 27, 2024. All submissions will be reviewed by the Conference Planning Committee and speakers will be notified of the committee’s decision in January.

Abstract Awards
Fellowship Award - This Award will be presented annually to the individual who has presented the most outstanding scientific paper (also known as abstract) on a research project at the International Conference. The award consists of a plaque and a prize of $1000.

Student Scientific Presentation Award - This award is presented annually to the student who has presented the most outstanding scientific oral presentation on a research project at the International Conference. The award consists of a certificate and a prize of $1000.

The Ed Ristaino Memorial Scholarship Award - sponsored by the North Carolina Society of Perfusion, is presented to the student with the second highest score for an oral presentation. The award consists of a certificate and a prize of $750.

Scientific Poster Award - This Award will be presented annually to the individual who has displayed the most outstanding scientific poster at the International Conference. The award consists of a plaque and a prize of $500.
