Tourism Industry Workforce Development Survey Follow-Up

In collaboration with Ontario Tourism Education Corporation, Destination Northern Ontario, Nature and Outdoor Tourism Ontario, District Social Services Administration Boards and Northern Ontario Workforce Planning Boards, we recently reached out to tourism business operators across Northern Ontario (Regional Tourism Organization 13) to gather information on the impact COVID-19 may be having on their operations with regard to staffing.

We thank those of you who participated in our Tourism Industry Workforce Development Survey. This information will go a long way in helping us to shape our supportive activities moving forward.

Ultimately, this program will assist in the identification and training of 300 potential employees and match them with a minimum of 150 employers within Northern Ontario’s tourism sector.  Qualified employers will be eligible for a 30% wage subsidy to $3,000 per employee.
