Reader Engagement, Advocacy and Development Strategy: Community Survey

As part of our continuing commitment to building the region as a reading community and building adult and family literacy, Geelong Regional Libraries is currently working on a ‘Reader Engagement, Advocacy and Development Strategy’ and we would love to hear your thoughts!

This survey should only take a few minutes and your responses will help inform the strategy development process. We really value and appreciate your input! This survey opens on Friday 28 November and closes Friday 18 December 2020.
1.Are you a Geelong Regional Library Corporation member?
2.Do you consider yourself a ‘reader’?
3.When you think of ‘reading’, what do you think of (when ‘reading’ includes many forms of reading, such as printed, audio, tactile and digital materials)?

Please select the option which first springs to mind, or add your own under ‘other’ at the bottom.
4.On average, how often would you read for pleasure?
5.What challenges or obstacles (if any) do you face in your reading?
6.Do you currently choose and borrow items on behalf of someone else?
7.Do you use the library’s free eCollections (eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines, digital newspapers) to read?
8.‘Reading for pleasure and cultivating a reading habit is good for your health, wellbeing and can reduce stress.’
Does this statement encourage you to read?
9.Do you have any ideas on how Geelong Regional Libraries could help enrich your reading experience, diversify your choices (read out of your comfort zone) or simply get you into reading?
10.What is your closest/local library branch?
11.Your age:
12.Your gender
Thank you for taking the time to participate in this survey. Your input will help shape our Reader Engagement, Advocacy and Development Strategy.
