EU Green claims survey |
1. Intro
The European Commission is seeking to tackle false or misleading environmental claims and strengthen consumer protections against greenwashing, premature obsolescence of products, and setting minimum requirements for the use of sustainability labels /logos.
New legislation could apply to any environmental claims made on product labels and in marketing communications. It could lead to new obligations on advertisers to substantiate environmental claims as well as penalties for any misleading environmental claims.
WFA is seeking to gather information from our members on how they currently tackle environmental claims within their marketing communications so that we may accurately represent our members’ interests in conversations with regulators on this subject.
This survey should take you less than 10 minutes to complete. All responses will be collected by the WFA and kept confidential, with all responses reported only in aggregate form.
