I Am Juneteenth!
Dear 52nd Anniversary Juneteenth Participant,
On behalf of Juneteenth President Tony A. Kearney Sr., Juneteenth Director Elizabeth M. Coggs, Juneteenth Planning Committee, and Northcott Neighborhood House Staff, we "THANK YOU" for participating in the 52nd Annual I Am Juneteenth Jubilee Parade & Street Festival.
Thank you for collectively working in the spirit of Harambee by "pulling together" to have a fantastic Juneteenth Parade and Street Festival...Milwaukee and Wisconsin...YOU ARE JUNETEENTH!
Because of you, we had an incredible Juneteenth experience filled with history, culture, arts, cuisine, and music, with generations and various ethnicity coming together. On June 19, 2023, we made history with the largest parade and turnout; we thank you for participating.
The Juneteenth Planning Committee wants your thoughts, evaluations, and suggestions as we plan for future years. This year we added new activities and attractions to the Juneteenth experience, including Senior Zone, Veterans Zone, and amenities to the Kid's & Teen We expanded the Kids Zone with more positive and various levels of competition in the Juneteenth Jubilee Parade. This survey is being conducted to gain information about the effectiveness of Juneteenth from your experience. The feedback received can be fruitful in making future changes and/or adjustments that impact Juneteenth.
A bonus is for the first 100 vendors/dancers, singers, performers, and/or participants who complete the survey; you will have an opportunity to have a resource table at the Harambee Back to School Block Party on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 3 pm-6 pm. Northcott Neighborhood House, Bader Philanthropies, Westcare, and Bronzeville sponsor the event. The only cost to you is to pass out free books, hygiene products, and/or school supplies to the youth that attend.
Another bonus is that you may have a table of resources at the Trunk or Treat...It's About Our Children and Community, on Sunday, October 22, 2023.-11 am-3 pm, by passing out safe treats/supplies/information to the youth and decorating your trunk. We also want Juneteenth vendors, performers, volunteers, supporters, and participants who sold this year's food or novelties at the Trunk or Treat event. For more information about upcoming events, call 414.372.3770.
We are also partnering with Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs and the City of Milwaukee Bronzeville Festival Committee; we are searching for youth talent, and there are vending and resource tables opportunities for Sunday, August 6, 2023.
Lastly, thank you to all of our sponsors: Bader Philanthropies, TMJ4, Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Gorman & Co., Beer Capitol, Brewers Community Foundation, Milwaukee County, City of Milwaukee, Green Bay Packers Giveback, Direct Supply, Milwaukee Bucks Foundation, Milwaukee County Transit System, United Way of Greater Waukesha and Milwaukee, Chase Bank, Waterstone Bank, Herzing University, Children's Hospital, and Chorus.
Because of you, we had another great Juneteenth Festival...THANK YOU! Be blessed, stay safe, and keep working and making a positive impact! Thank you for attending the 52nd Annual I Am Juneteenth Jubilee Parade & Street Festival. Your feedback will help us to improve future events. We will see you in 2024 with a bigger, safer, better Juneteenth celebration!
