Become a Volunteer Event Planner with NEAT (Newcomers Explore and Appreciate Toronto)

Newcomer Event Planners are matched with mentors to explore Toronto by walking and organize at least 2 guided tours or outdoor activities during 4 to 6 months' time.
NEAT teams work all around Toronto as per their own schedule and are expected to organize guided tours and outdoor activities.

*. Must be able to commit to the program for a period of 4 to 6 months
*. Willingness to travel within Toronto
*. Ability to walk for a couple of hours or more
*. Willingness to spend time outdoors during fall/winter
*. Interest in exploring Toronto, organizing winter activities, learning new skills, openness to new ideas and using one’s full potential
*. Ability/willingness to work in a team as well as independently
*. CLB Level and up is encouraged.

Most orientation Sessions, Match Meetings and training are held at CultureLink’s office: 2340 Dundas Street West, Suite 301 (Near Dundas West Subway station)

Most orientation Sessions, Match Meetings and training are held at CultureLink’s office: 2340 Dundas Street West, Suite 301 (Near Dundas West Subway station)
COVID19 -- due to this pandemic, NEAT orientation session and match meetings will be held online via Zoom. Once matched, Newcomers will continue to meet with their mentor and group members via mutually agreed online platform and may carry on their meetings in-person as per the directions from the city/health department.

This program is funded by IRCC - Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (previously known as CIC - Citizenship and Immigration Canada). Therefore, we collect copy of immigration document (i.e. landing paper, permanent resident card, letter of acceptance of convention refugees status, etc.). This information is used to report to the funder on monthly basis.
Being the funder of our program, IRCC reserves the right to contact our newcomer clients via email or phone, in order to learn about their experiences and benefits of the program they attended, or were matched in.
