E. Lake Mary Blvd. Small Area Study - Workshop #3 Recommendations Survey

1.Overall, the proposed land use recommendations and improvement strategies reflect my vision for the future of the study area.

2.Amenities such as pedestrian-scale lighting, new sidewalks, trails, benches, and street tree canopy improve mobility options for everyone and create a higher quality of life for the community.

3.Walkability is a measure of how inviting or uninviting an area is for walking. An improved sidewalk network and new commercial, retail and service uses along E. Lake Mary Blvd. will encourage people to walk or bicycle for daily trips, social gatherings, and recreation opportunities.

4.Key intersections should provide enhanced pedestrian crossing elements that increase the visibility of non-motorized users and improve their crossing safety.

5.Marquette Avenue should be closed somewhere between Red Cleveland Boulevard and Ohio Avenue to prevent airport traffic from driving through this residential area.

6.More parks and open spaces are needed to provide areas for groundwater recharge, improve air quality, increase storm drainage, provide recreation opportunities, and offer wildlife habitat.

7.Gateway features at the SR 46/E. Lake Mary Blvd. intersection will help improve the identity of the study area, provide a palette of design elements that can be incorporated into new development, and help slow traffic.
