Proposals - NACD Urban and Community Conservation Webinars
The National Association of Conservation Districts' holds 1-hour Urban and Community Conservation Webinars virtually once a month, in collaboration with The Scotts MiracleGro Foundation.
Each webinar features projects and programs led by conservation districts and their collaborators on topics like:
Urban resource conservation issues: soil health, water quantity/quality, pollinators, forestry, etc.
Community-focused conservation and agricultural initiatives
Management of storm water and nonpoint source pollution
Outreach to underrepresented clients in conservation
Adapting resource conservation practices to smaller scales
Other topics relevant to community agriculture and conservation.
We are planning the webinar schedule for the next fiscal year, and encourage you to volunteer to present on any of the topics noted above, or on any other relevant topic. Districts who have not presented previously are especially encouraged to submit webinar proposals, as are webinar ideas focused on skills-based presentations (seeking funding, developing outreach plans, implementing partner networks, etc.).
The NACD Urban and Community Resource Policy Group will review the proposals in September, selecting at least 12 that represent geographic and topical diversity. We may combine 2 or more presenters into a single session. All webinars are conducted on a volunteer basis.
Thank you to the Scotts MiracleGro Foundation for ongoing support of these free, monthly webinars. Please see NACD's Urban and Community Conservation webpage for additional information and the archive of the webinars, and contact Ariel Rivers, PhD, NACD Pacific Region Representative with any questions, at Ariel-Rivers@nacdnet.org.
