Introduction

The purpose of this survey is to gather feedback from SLTs working in the UK about the terms they want to use in electronic patient records. This work has come about in response to the rollout of a clinical terminology system called SNOMED CT. Your input will guide us in requesting changes to this system, to ensure that it is appropriate for speech and language therapy. This has the potential for far-reaching impact in terms of clinical care, service planning and research.

We want to hear from all RCSLT members:
  • You do not need to work in the NHS or have prior knowledge of terminology systems like SNOMED CT.
  • You do not need to be a specialist in a particular area.
  • We are happy to receive multiple responses from SLTs working in the same team or area, but if you would like to provide a co-ordinated response, there is a place in the survey to explain this.
