Marathon County Government, in partnership with Childcaring, is excited to announce a program aimed at increasing the number of child care providers and available regulated child care slots in our community.

Program Highlights:
  • FREE Foundational Training: Participants will receive essential training needed to operate a regulated family child care program or to work at a licensed group center.
    • Training includes Abusive Head Trauma Prevention, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Prevention training, Mandated Reporter training, and Pediatric First Aid/CPR w/ AED.
  • Commitment Required: To ensure the sustainability of child care in the area, participants must commit to providing child care in Marathon County for two years.
    • Please note that early termination of this agreement will require repayment for the foundational training to Childcaring.
  • Stipends Available: Each participating family child care provider or group center will receive a stipend of $5,000. This stipend is designed to support foundational training completion, incentive pay for participants, and any onboarding costs related to hiring.
