Mecklenburg County, in partnership with the City of Charlotte, is conducting a study to identify community needs for federal funding provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Both the County and City receive funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership (HOME) Programs, while the City of Charlotte also received funding through the Emergency Solutions Grant(ESG) and Housing Opportunities for Persons with Aids(HOPWA).
The survey results will guide the development of the Five-Year Consolidated Plan for FY 2025-2029, which prioritizes HUD fund allocation for assisting low- and moderate-income individuals and addressing slum conditions.
