Workplace Violence - Student Aggression Workshop

CUPE 997 is pleased to offer this complimentary workshop open to CUPE 997 Members only.
While the workshop is open to all CUPE members it will be of specific interest to Educational Assistants.
Learn what you can and should do if you are the victim of student aggression in the workplace.

1. Importance of completing the workplace injury/accident forms and seeking medical assistance.
2. When / if to contact the police and how to go about doing that.
3. When to refuse unsafe work and how to determine when that should occur and an overview of that process.
4. When to organize a work stoppage and how to determine when that should occur and an overview of that process.
5. Overall how to stay safe at work and assist us in preventing workplace violence against staff.
6. What are worker’s legal rights under legislation and what obligations does the employer have under legislation?
