Public Survey

The Town of Smithfield has started conducting a study of the transportation conditions in their downtown. The primary study area will be Smithfield’s Downtown Municipal Service District, from the Neuse River to Brightleaf Boulevard. The project will take place over a period of twelve (12) months, and will work to assess the following:
· Traffic levels and flow
· Parking needs
· Bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure improvements
· Urban design solutions
The goal of the study is to create a more vibrant downtown that is accessible to all types of transportation while also optimizing safety and the flow of traffic on US-70 Business (Market Street). In order to achieve this goal, we need to hear from you!
Please take a moment to answer the following questions that will ask you about current conditions in downtown Smithfield and your vision for improvements. Your participation is an important part of the planning process and is greatly appreciated!
