Information Training & Outreach Centre for Africa (ITOCA), in partnership with Cornell University Mann Library, will be hosting an online evidence synthesis training for African librarians. The course will be offered in English and is open to librarians and information specialists from African countries:
 
 
Program description
 
The 4-day synchronous training will be delivered on Zoom from the 20th to the 23rd of November 2023. The training will run for a period of 4.5 hours each day and will cover the following topics:
 
· Overview of systematic reviews and similar methodologies,
·         guidelines and standards,
·         search strategy development,
·         software tools,
·         quality assessment, and
·         systematic review services.

Eligibility: To qualify for this training, you must hold a minimum of a first degree in Library and Information Science or a related discipline and have a professional role as an information specialist or librarian for a minimum of 2 years.

Cost: USD75 / ZAR 1400

Cancellation Policy:

We acknowledge that sometimes you might need to cancel your enrolment from a course/training workshop. If you cannot attend or no longer require a place, please provide a cancellation notice at least 14 days before the course start date. Provide sufficient notice to avoid being charged the full course/training workshop fee. There will be no refunds for non-attendance of the course. If there are extenuating circumstances, the ITOCA Course Administrator should be advised of these, and the final decision will be at ITOCA's discretion.

Course cancellation initiated by ITOCA: Occasionally, it is necessary for courses to be canceled or rescheduled by our company. The Course Administrator will send an email to advise you of the cancellation and provide a new date for the course. We will give at least 10 working days' notice before the course starts. If a future course is not possible, all refunds will be made within 14 working days.
