Bainbridge Island Community Arts Plan
The City's goal is to create a shared vision for the role that Community Arts will play on Bainbridge Island, and to create supporting policies and programs that will enhance the quality of life for Bainbridge Island community members, arts organizations, businesses, and visitors. Community Arts includes both visual and literary arts. This survey evaluates Bainbridge Island’s existing arts and cultural resources and examines the needs and desires of people across the island as they relate to Community Arts.
This plan will also help to establish guidance for the commissioning, purchase, and installation of public art. Public Art, Art or Artwork means an original work created or produced by an Artist (as defined hereinafter), including, but not limited to, paintings, sculptures, engravings, carvings, frescos, stained glass and glass works, mosaics, mobiles, murals, collages, statues, bas reliefs, tapestries, photographs, video projections, drawings, fountains, landscape designs, artifacts of historical or cultural significance, monuments erected to commemorate a person or event, functional furnishings such as artist-designed seating, performing arts, or other media.
Answers gathered in this survey will have a direct impact on how the Community Arts Plan is developed.
