Oncology pharmacist survey: Understanding task value and professional satisfaction |
Introduction
The Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) Practice Outcomes and Professional Benchmarking Committee (POPBC) aims to identify the value placed (and amount of satisfaction derived from) predominant direct patient care activities, non-patient care activities, and education/professional development activities that oncology pharmacists engage in. The goal of this work is to incorporate a valuation of each task into a baseline metric. With the knowledge of what tasks hematology/oncology pharmacists value the most, a more comprehensive picture of the pharmacy workforce landscape will be available for front-line workers and administration to evaluate opportunities to create and staff positions to improve satisfaction.
